Actually, a typically mobile robot application is roughly built on top of some middleware, the semantic glue being implemented with an imperative language like C++ or Python. In this presentation, we sketch an alternative declarative approach based on recent advances in Data Management techniques. The basic idea is to see a multi-robot environment as a set of data, streams and services which can be described at a high level of abstraction. We provide our first results using a SQL-like language showing that such applications can be devised with a few continuous queries, much easier to express than ad-hoc programming.
